Announcing Thunkable’s Series B Funding

More than six years ago, Thunkable was launched with the mission of empowering creators to get hands-on with digital innovation. Since that time, we have grown our capabilities, our community, and our team. Now, there are more than 3 million users from 184 different countries using Thunkable to get hands-on with no code mobile app development. 

And today we are thrilled to announce that Thunkable has closed our Series B funding round of $30 million, led by Owl Ventures, with continued support from Lightspeed Venture Partners, NEA, PJC, Sky9 Capital, and many more. 

Funding the Future of No Code Mobile App Development

Thunkable has a simple, yet ambitious goal – to make mobile app development accessible to everyone, everywhere. Because we know that good ideas are everywhere and coding skillsets or funding shouldn’t be required to create solutions for unaddressed problems. With this latest round of funding, we are going to continue to aggressively pursue this mission and focus on three key areas:

• Community

Expanding No Code App Creation Capabilities

To further accomplish Thunkable’s goals emphasized by our cofounders, our growing team’s focus will always remain product-first. We are going to unlock more capabilities and expand the functionality of our platform. We have some exciting product developments that we’ll be sharing with you throughout the year. 

No Code App Creation Help

Finally, we are looking towards growing and empowering our global Community. We have two exciting initiatives lined up and many more to come. 

Thunkable Academy

The first is the launch of Thunkable Academy. We are building an end-to-end training and certification program to make learning no code mobile app development on the Thunkable platform fast and fun. We are welcoming an initial group of trial users to go through the program before we open things up to everyone later this summer. Thunkable Freelancer Network

We are introducing the Thunkable Freelancer Network. Through our Community and Creator Success engagement, we see the thousands of power-users from all around the world and we want to pair your Thunkable skillset with companies and organizations in need of app development assistance.
