Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. You will need a developer license from Google and Apple to publish your apps. These fees may be one-time or annual payments. In addition, you must maintain an active subscription for your published apps to remain active.
Public projects are shared in the Public Gallery for anyone to preview and remix. Private projects are just that – private. They are not included in the Thunkable Gallery but only for your eyes. If you are working on something new or novel that you want to protect, you should utilize a private project.
Private projects can only be shared with other paid subscribers. Please note: If you share your project with another user, they can share the project and make the project public.
Our Free plan does not include private projects. All paid plans include private projects. Maintaining a paid subscription will allow you to keep your projects private. If you downgrade to Free, your projects will be put into read-only mode and may be deleted after inactivity for a significant amount of time.
If your Thunkable subscription expires, your private project will be set to private “read-only” mode. You will not be able to edit or maintain your app unless you renew your subscription. And if your subscription expires, any published apps will become unavailable for your end users. (For users on Pro or Business plans, your published apps will be unaffected if your account expires).
All users are invited to join our Community. We also offer in-product messaging support for all paid plans. Our Advanced users receive priority email support. We recommend contacting our Creator Success team via that in-product chat icon if you need to contact support or get assistance on your app.
No. The active app is based on the project's App (Bundle) ID. You are free to publish a project to the Google Play Store, Apple AppStore, or the Web. You can maintain one live app on the Builder plan and unlimited published apps on the Advanced plan. We do not make you choose a single platform for publishing.
A testing download is meant for you to test your app when it is installed on a device. These downloads will expire after 72 hours. A distribution download is meant to be circulated with your user outside of the app marketplaces and will not expire. As long as your paid subscription remains active, these apps will remain available for your end users.
