What's New with Thunkable? January 2024 Product Updates

Custom Properties: Set Defaults in Your Custom Components

Last month we announced the release of Custom Components. This month we are bringing you Custom Properties to level up the flexibility of your Custom Components to be used across all of your projects or shared with fellow app creators. Now, you can set default properties in your adjustable custom components after importing them into your projects. 

What Does This Mean for You?

Custom Components allow you to save combinations of UI components and blocks, making it easier than ever to reuse and share your creations. Build your component once in the component editor and use it across multiple projects.

Who Is This Available To? 

All Thunkable Creators can access this feature! The Custom Component builder can be found on the project homepage under ‘Custom Components” on the left-hand menu.  If you haven’t already, create your account and start building on Thunkable’s no code native app builder today!

With Thunkable’s vast integration capabilities come frequent updates to make sure your app is compliant. Let’s take a look at the following updates you need to be aware of:

🚨 Google AdMob Consent Management: Creators serving ads to EEA and UK end users now have new consent management requirements for AdMob. Stay compliant with these new standards by publishing an update for your app on Google Play and App Store for these changes to take effect. To learn more about this update view our community post.

🔑 Airtable API Key Deprecation: Starting February 1, 2024, we will no longer support API keys to connect Airtable bases to Thunkable apps. Plan your transition accordingly. View our doc for more information on Airtable as a data source in Thunkable.

🤖 OpenAI + Thunkable Integration Update: We've updated the default model in our OpenAI Integration to gpt-3.5-turbo-instruct, providing you with enhanced capabilities for AI-powered interactions.
