What's New with Thunkable? April 2024 Product Updates

This month, we have two new major features to help you build your custom mobile apps even faster. We’ve been busy working on Rich Text capabilities, blocks search, and squashing bugs. So let’s get into it.  

Our new rich text component lets you compose and format long-form text! Write articles and blogs, then format them with options like headers, bolding, and hyperlinks. Also new this month: build out your app’s logic more efficiently than ever with blocks toolbox search. Learn about these new features and more below.

Achieve Advanced Text Formatting with Rich Text

We’re pleased to announce the release of our newest user interface component: Rich Text! Easily format and style text font and sizing, write bulleted lists, and set heading levels, all without requiring separate label components!

What Does This Mean for You?

Rather than individually formatting multiple label components, this feature allows Creators to use just one component to compose and display text with different types of formatting and use blocks to manipulate the component’s properties. Learn the full capabilities of this new component in the Thunkable docs.

Who Is This Available To? 

The rich text component is a part of our library of basic UI components, meaning all Creators can access this new feature! Try it out in the Thunkable drag-and-drop app builder.

Speedy Blocks Search

One of our most requested features has been released - blocks drawer search! Gone are the days of opening drawers of blocks to find what you’re looking for. Now, with the power of search, you can quickly locate the exact block you need to speed up your development. Simply search the name of the block or function, and it will automatically appear for you. 

What Does This Mean for You?

Navigate to the Blocks tab, where you will find the brand-new search bar at the top of the Blocks toolbox. After typing in the search box, press the Arrow Down key to navigate through the block options. Press Enter/Return to add the selected block to the workspace. Who Is This Available To? 

Blocks toolbox search is a standard feature in our Blocks tab, and is now available for all Creators! Experience the speed of blocks search on Thunkable’s no code app platform today!
